Common Sense from the Common Man offers itself up as a compass that will help the modern man find his way through the convoluted muck. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: D. V. Gillum had a fascinating story of his life that he wanted to record as a part of his family ́s genealogy to pass along to future descendants. As a child growing up in a coal-mining region of Kentucky during the Great Depression of the late 1920 ́s to the mid 1930 ́s, he experienced poverty and hardships that few people of later generations could even imagine. As teenager during WW II, he joined the Navy and served as Quartermaster aboard the USS LSM 36. He participated in invasions of Japanese held islands in the Pacific, witnessing the danger and terror of the Japanese Kamikaze suicide planes. Like millions of other young Americans, he returned home to an America where very few job were available. Armed with only a 9th grade education, he later became a department executive for Rockwell, and worked on the Apollo Moon Landing Project, and later the Space Shuttle Project. Through his hobbies, he coached Little League Baseball and became a mentor to many young children. He is also a gifted poet. His life ́s story is so typical of average Americans whom, in their own way, large or small, contributed to making America the great nation that it is today. The citizens of this country who suffered through the Great Depression, followed by WW II, have been described by many as "America ́s Greatest Generation." D. V. Gillum certainly qualifies as a member of this elite group. T. D. Burns

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you know what to do with a dollar? Regardless of where you work or what you are paid your answer to that fundamental question will often determine the level of your success financially. If your mental response to that question was to save 10% of the dollar, give away 10% of it and use what is left to spend, then you have answered correctly. By saving 10% of the dollar you begin to develop a financial reserve to be used towards developing additional means of creating money. By giving away 10% of the dollar you tap into the laws of giving and receiving which is explained in further detail in the book. What is left of the dollar is yours to spend and in reading this book your thoughts on how you choose to spend it will change. This book will give you insight into some of those basic money truths and show you how to apply them. Starting with the back ground of the author's quest for money creation. Common Sense about creating money helps you determine what sources you currently have available to you and gives you examples of how to develop those sources into viable resources of money creation. Throughout the course of time the fundamental basics about money have not changed. But the application of those basics have to become a part of your money creating plan. One that is unique to you and your situation. Only then will you put yourself in the position to "Create" Money.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It seems that government wants to invade every part of our lives: our workplace, our religion, even our families. And now our debt! As a small businessman, I am appalled at the spending deficit, year after year. Don’t our people in Congress know that even the interest on our national debt is a backbreaking load on our economy? Perhaps we have too many lawyers roaming the Hallowed Halls and too few responsible businessmen. The awful specter of death overwhelmed me. Never again would I hear her bubbly laughter as she jumped into my lap to hug me. Never again would she delight us with her little-girl antics. I begged God to spare her. I confessed every sin I could remember. It was not to be. In His infinite wisdom, God took her home. Oh, Susan. I consider the Bible to be the most practical book ever written. It teaches us how to live in a world that seems to consider honesty and integrity to be a fault. It teaches purity in a world where chastity is pictured as unnatural. It promotes self-sacrificial friendliness to a grasping, self-seeking world. It teaches us to live peaceably, and finally, it can prepare us for eternity.

Laxman, the country s sharpest cartoonist and political satirist. Each morning, Laxman s frazzled character, known as the Common Man, confronts India s latest heartbreak with a kind of wry resignation. . . . What s common about this character is that like most Indians, he sees his country being forced through endless indignities by its leaders and yet doesn t even whimper in protest.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “War and the Future: Italy, France and Britain at War” is a 1917 treatise written H. G. Wells on the First World War, exploring its causes, military technology, ramifications, possible outcomes, and more. This fascinating thesis is highly recommended for those with an interest in WWI and is not to be missed by fans and collectors of Wells' work. Contents include: “The Passing Of The Effigy”, “The War In Italy (August, 1916)”, “The Isonzo Front”, “The Mountain War”, “Behind The Front”, “The Western War (September, 1916)”, “Ruins”, “The Grades Of War”, “The War Landscape”, “New Arms For Old Ones”, “Tanks”, “How People Think About The War”, et cetera. Herbert George Wells (1866 – 1946) was a prolific English writer who wrote in a variety of genres, including the novel, politics, history, and social commentary. Today, he is perhaps best remembered for his contributions to the science fiction genre, thanks to such novels as “The Time Machine” (1895), “The Invisible Man” (1897), and “The War of the Worlds” (1898). Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this book now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author.
