Book excerpt: With enthusiasm in music, drama, reading classic literature, and being a journalism student and school newspaper reporter, I started my interest in writing poetry. But as always, life gets in the way, and I didn’t get truly started till the mid to late 1990s. In 2019, I began again, including a section of short stories. My poetry consists of godly influencers, loneliness with a cynical emphasis, and philosophical writings with a sardonic twist. Thank you for the look-see. Enjoy and God bless one an all.

Download The Road to Paradise PDF by Karen Barnett Full Free and published by WaterBrook. This book was released on 2017-06-06 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An ideal sanctuary and a dream come true–that’s what Margaret Lane feels as she takes in God’s gorgeous handiwork in Mount Rainier National Park. It’s 1927 and the National Park Service is in its youth when Margie, an avid naturalist, lands a coveted position alongside the park rangers living and working in the unrivaled splendor of Mount Rainier’s long shadow. But Chief Ranger Ford Brayden is still haunted by his father’s death on the mountain, and the ranger takes his work managing the park and its crowd of visitors seriously. The job of watching over an idealistic senator’s daughter with few practical survival skills seems a waste of resources. When Margie’s former fiancé sets his mind on developing the Paradise Inn and its surroundings into a tourist playground, the plans might put more than the park’s pristine beauty in danger. What will Margie and Ford sacrifice to preserve the splendor and simplicity of the wilderness they both love? Karen Barnett’s vintage national parks novels bring to vivid life President Theodore Roosevelt’s vision for protected lands, when he wrote in Outdoor Pastimes of an American Hunter: "There can be nothing in the world more beautiful than the Yosemite, the groves of the giant sequoias and redwoods, the Canyon of the Colorado, the Canyon of the Yellowstone, the Three Tetons; and our people should see to it that they are preserved for their children and their children's children forever, with their majestic beauty all unmarred."
Download Roads Through the Everglades PDF by Bruce D. Epperson Full Free and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2016-06-20 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1915, the road system in south Florida had changed little since before the Civil War. Travelling from Miami to Ft. Myers meant going through Orlando, 250 miles north of Miami. Within 15 years, three highways were dredged and blasted through the Everglades: Ingraham Highway from Homestead, 25 miles south of Miami, to Flamingo on the tip of the peninsula; Tamiami Trail from Miami to Tampa; and Conners Highway from West Palm Beach to Okeechobee City. In 1916, Florida's road commission spent $967. In 1928 it spent $6.8 million. Tamiami Trail, originally projected to cost $500,000, eventually required $11 million. These roads were made possible by the 1920s Florida land boom, the advent of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment to replace animal and steam-powered implements, and the creation of a highway funding system based on fuel taxes. This book tells the story of the finance and technology of the first modern highways in the South.
Download Albania off-road paradise PDF by Filip Weber Full Free and published by Filip Weber. This book was released on 2012-01-01 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you know how to say “shovel” in Albanian? “Lopata”! Even if you don’t know how to say it in Albanian, be sure to throw one in the car when you go, or better yet take two and make sure they’re really solid ones. Albania has changed dramatically since my first visit in 1999. The towns have been renovated and new main roads, new bridges as well as a new highway to the north have been built. You can catch a mobile phone signal almost everywhere and the stores are full of goods. Only the mountains have remained the same – or maybe they have become even more desolate as time goes by. Young people are moving to the towns, mountain villages are depopulating and no one maintains the mountain roads. Illegal lumberjacks use IFA trucks to haul wood and the condition of the roads is getting worse and worse. Deep ruts, which are impassable with a regular off-road vehicle, are common. Roads are often washed away by water or covered by landslides. Each year after winter, more and more mountain roads are impassable. But there are still many beautiful, passable routes that lead to the most beautiful places in the mountains. The viewpoints of magnificent mountain lakes and majestic rock formations take your breath away. I would like this guide to lead you through the most beautiful places in Albania, places that I have fallen in love with and that I like to visit again and again. Don’t believe ugly stories that people in Central Europe tell to scare each other. Forget the legends about bloody vendettas and hold-ups. All the same, you can never be too careful and you’ll be wise to camp close to residential areas and greet and chat with the locals when you arrive. You might even bring them a small gift, like beer, a knife, an axe or cigarettes for adults and chocolate, coloured pencils, colouring books or English children’s books for kids. Albanians are very hospitable; I have always been polite and respectful to them and they have been very kind in return.

The purpose seems to be to go swimming, but activities quickly deviate from there. Perhaps drunk pool games are a bad idea. The modern romance story is filled with interesting characters, womanizing brothers Sam and Ray with “girl-next-door” Kristen along for an extended road trip. The internal battles fought by Kristen’s conscious as she gets sucked into a wilder life are first displayed at this private pool in a quiet neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. Readers are led on a breathtaking story of arousal and suspense as Kristen loses her inhibitions under the influence of alcohol. The story leaves readers unconcerned about the past or the future as they are helplessly entranced as voyeurs of the present. Whether the boys are concerned with objectification and simple pleasures or whether the night’s tryst is going to give way to complication, jealous infighting, or something more is yet to be determined. Excitement, new adult, adventure, and vulnerability promise readers that every next page in this short story will be better than the last. On the Road: Paradise Found is a steamy, love and friendship NSFW short story certain to satisfy readers’ needs for a guilty pleasure.
